Description
general plumage green; facial area dull rose-red; dark violet band from lores to nape; ear-coverts, under wing and under tail-coverts greenish-yellow; breast and abdomen feathers yellowish-green with green edging; yellow stripe to underside of wings; tail upperside green, underside olive-yellow; narrow periophthalmic ring bluish-grey; iris dark brown; feet grey; bill orange-red with blackish base.
Female as male.
Immatures with darker plumage and less red; dark violet band absent; periophthalmic ring whitish; bill dark.
Length: 20 cm
Location
Mount Apo and neighbouring mountains in central and southeast Mindanao.
